Vestiges from the future

Pierre Gonalons in Beirut, in residence at Hôtel de Damas for the Boghossian Foundation, under the artistic direction of André Chami.

Three lines: Fountainhead, Alcove, Byblos.

Revisiting traditional techniques such as wood marquetry, mother-of-pearl inlay, and metalwork in copper and brass, Gonalons creates objects that reflect and define their time.

During his residency, he also visited the National Museum of Beirut, the Saloua Raouda Choucair Foundation, and the exhibition centre in Tripoli designed by Oscar Niemeyer.

Drawing from these sites, the work brings together a new and original body of pieces.

Available at the Boghossian Foundation Store and at Hôtel de Damas
